It should be left for 3 to 4 hours and washed with cold water. It gives black colour to your hair. Avoid shampoos that contain sodium laurel sulfate, or sodium laureth sulfate. These chemicals are synthetic detergents which are used in dishwashing liquid and other cleansers. Warm oil pierces the hair shaft making the hair more flexible and giving it shine.

Drink coconut water twice a week. It is good for your hair and skin. Heat olive oil and massage into hair and then have steam. Make a paste of jaggery, curd, and Multanni mitti and actuate on scalp an hour before shampooing to get rid of dandruff. Always pack a sun hat. It’s the easiest way to keep your colour from fading.

EYESHADOW should always glide on smoothly, and can be used to subtly change or enhance the shape of the eyes, to add simple definition or to make a strong impact, depending on your choice of colour. When applying eye shadow, sweep the lightest shade across the entire area from lash line to brow. This serves as a base to the other eye shadow colors much like a foundation for the rest of the face. A medium color can be applied on the lower part of the lid. The darkest shade can be skillfully used to create depth.

A wonderful eye shadow tip for women who want to make their eyes appear closer is to emphasize the inner corners of the eyes. A light eye shadow over the entire eyelid followed by a medium color on the inner half of the eyelid can create a pleasing effect. Some women prefer to apply eye shadow with a damp brush or applicator. This helps in intensifying the color. Powder eye shadows come in singles or color coordinated sets. Cream eye shadows can be coordinated with powder eye shadows. It is also useful to disguise the blueness many of us have on the skin on our eyelids.

Whether you wear cream or powder formulations of eye shadow is down to personal preference. Cream-to-powder eye shadows are easy to apply, as they can be literally swept over the eyelid in one stroke, but they have the disadvantage of gliding off again within hours of application or of creasing in the eyelid. To improve the staying power of cream eye shadow, try setting It with a light dusting of translucent powder While powder eye shadows do tend to stay put, they require greater precision in application. Older skins will benefit from the use of powder eye shadows.

Applying Eye Shadow Facts and Tips
When you select colours, remember that dark ones deepen or hollow features, while light ones will make the eyes stand out. Choose bright colours carefully. They can look great but they draw attention instantly to the eyes and run the risk of looking unnatural, unless the face is balanced with other suitable make-up products. Don’t be put off by eye shadow colours before you have apply them, as most will appear more intense in the palettes than they actually are.

Experiment with bright shades, but use them as a wash over the eyelids to add a subtle hint of colour. You don’t need to wear colours that match the colour of your ins, but it’s a good idea to select shades which will accentuate your natural colouring. For those with blue eyes, try liner in brown or navy and avoid wearing blue eyeshadow. Green eyes stand out when shaded with khaki and brown shades with yellow undertones. Very dark brown eyes can wear almost any colour but look especially striking with browns, charcoal and mahogany. Finally, grey/green eyes are enhanced by charcoal and black.

Eyeshadow Application Tips
If you wear glasses, take into consideration the type of lenses you have when you are selecting make-up. If you are short-sighted, corrective lenses will magnify your eyes, so unless you have naturally small eyes wear muted or natural shades of eyeshadow. If you are longsighted, your lenses will make your eyes appear smaller, so use eyeshadow to strengthen them. Dust eyeshadow along the socket line and outer corners of the eyes, but do not shade the eyelid heavily. Avoid wearing eyeliner on the upper lash line and steer clear of dark eyeshadow, as this will make the eyes appear smaller than they are. Also, frames will cast a shadow on the face, so disguise any darkness with a concealer one shade lighter than your foundation.

How to Apply Eyeshadow
Make-up artists recommend that, when you are wearing eyeshadow, you should pile on extra loose powder under the eyes to catch any stray particles of eyeshadow. After shading the eyes, this can be removed by dusting off with a large make-up brush. After application, if you feel your choice of eyeshadow is too intense, tone the colour down by dusting with face powder or gently wipe a foundation sponge over the eyelid to make the overall effect more subtle. To ensure that your eyeshadow is long-lasting and crease-proof, make-up artists advise application with a damp make-up brush. As the eyeshadow is blended into the skin, it will dry. Also, because the product will cling to the wet brush, stray particles of powder will not collect on the cheeks.

1. Apply a light color over your entire eye lid from lash line to brow. Use a large flat eye shadow brush. Always use good quality brushes.

2. The second step is to apply a medium shadow color on your lower lid from lash line to the crease of your eye. Use a fluff brush.

3.The third step is to use your darkest color as a liner and apply along your lash line. To insure shadow will not flake, dampen your eyeliner brush before applying shadow. This will make it last longer.

Types of eye shadows
Dark - This is applied only to the eyelids from the lashline to the crease in the eyelid.
Medium - This is applied from just below the eyelid crease to the browbone.
Highlight - This is the lightest of the three and is applied to the browbone and extends a little past the outer end of the eyebrow. This usually gives a pearly finish.

Most companies offering Hawaiian wedding packages are designing your special day around a central theme of Hawaiian “Aloha” – the expression of love and respect for each other, for the earth and all her bounty.

Many Hawaiian weddings include:
• A Beach or Garden setting.

• An officiant who may or may not perform a Hawaiian blessing in the Hawaiian language in addition to the English ceremony.

• Exchange of Leis. Traditionally, grooms wear a maile leaf lei which can be worn alone or woven with ilima. Brides frequently wear the fragrant pikake (white jasmine) which can also be entwined with maile.

• Some ceremonies include Hawaiian music and the blowing of the conch.

What’s the best time to be married in Hawaii?

The Crowds:
The busiest time of year in Hawaii is between January through April. The last week of December, through January 5 (Christmas & New Years) is the absolute busiest period. If you’re planning a beach wedding, do not expect to have the beach to yourself. All beaches in Hawaii are public.

The Weather
The weather on Maui between January - April is exceptional. November - December is considered the “rainy” season, so by January everything is lush, green and “tropical”. The south end of the island (Kihei and Wailea) generally receives less rain than other parts of Maui.

It is also considerably cooler during the winter in Hawaii, which will make a difference if you’re planning on being dressed to the nine’s! On the other hand, there is absolutely nothing more romantic than a walk on the beach beneath the stars on a balmy summer night! August and September tend to be hot and dry, with temperatures averaging between 85-90ºF during the day, and 60-70ºF in the evening.

Sunset or Daytime Wedding?
A Hawaiian wedding on the beach at sunset! How romantic! The heat of the day rises up through the warm, white sand; the afternoon trades have died down to a gentle breeze; the crowds have thinned; the sun drops gently beyond the horizon, filling the azure sky with brilliant trails of vibrant orange and gold.

If family and friends will be attending your wedding on Maui, and you’re planning your wedding outdoors, pay special attention to where your guests will be seated. If they are sitting facing directly into the setting sun they will have a difficult time watching your ceremony!

Obtaining a marriage license in Hawaii?
The Hawaii Department of Health web site goes into full detail concerning the requirements. Below are the main points…

HOW TO APPLY FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE
• The prospective bride and groom must appear together in person before a marriage license agent to apply for a marriage license. Proxies are not allowed.

• The prospective bride and groom should be prepared to provide the necessary proof of age and present any required written consents and approvals. All of the necessary documents should be obtained prior to applying for a marriage license.

• The prospective bride and groom must prepare an official application (you can fill most of this out before you get to Hawaii) and file the application in person with the marriage license agent (this must be done on Maui).

• Upon approval, a marriage license is issued at the time the application is made.

• The marriage license costs $60.00, payable in cash at the time the application is made.

• The marriage license is good only in, but is valid throughout, the State of Hawaii.

• The marriage license expires 30 days from and including the date of issuance, after which it automatically becomes null and void.

Number of Visitors Annually:  Approximately 2.2 million visitors visit Maui each year.
Number of Whales Annually:  Approximately 3,000 whales winter in Maui waters. There are only 7,000-8000 humpback whales surviving today. An adult whale is 45 feet long and weighs 40 tons. Baby whales born in Maui waters weigh a mere 2,000 pounds.
Most Popular Visitor Attractions:  The attractions and places consistently drawing the most visitors are Haleakala National Park, Lahaina Town, ‘Iao Valley State Park, Hana and the Maui Ocean Center.
Parks:  There are 10 state parks, 94 county parks and community centers and one national park, Haleakala National Park.
Golf Courses:  Maui has seventeen golf courses.
Superlatives:
Maui has been voted “Best Pacific Island” by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine for sixteen consecutive years.

Airports:  The main airport is in Kahului at the center of Maui. There is also a smaller airport in Kapalua (West Maui), and a commuter airport in Hana.  All major airlines offer direct service from the U.S. and Canada to Maui.

Hair stylist

A hair stylist specializes in the styling of hair, including cutting, chemical perms (relaxers, curls, waves and color treatments).

Shampoo technician

A shampoo technician shampoos and conditions a client’s hair in preparation for the hair stylist. A shampoo tech may assist with rinsing permanent waves, and shampooing color and chemical relaxers out of the hair after processing. Shampoo techs are normally only employed by corporate or concept salons and large-volume beauty salons that are operated simultaneously. In some states, a shampoo tech must have a cosmetology permit. This is usually a temporary position, held by a person who is newly licensed with little or no experience.

Manicurist

A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment for the fingernails and/or hands. The word “manicure” derives from Latin: manus for hand, cura for “care”. When performed on the feet, such a treatment is called a pedicure.

Many manicures start by soaking the hands or feet in a softening substance and the application of lotion. A common type of manicure involves shaping the nails and application of nail polish. A manicure may also include the application of artificial nail tips, acrylics or artificial nail gels. Some manicures can include the painting of pictures or designs on the nails or applying small decals or imitation jewels.

In many areas, manicurists are licensed and follow regulation. Since skin is manipulated and is sometimes trimmed, there is a certain risk of spreading infection when tools are used across many people and therefore sanitation is a serious issue.

Esthetician

An aesthetician (or esthetician) specializes in the study of skin care, including facial treatments, body wraps (relaxing treatments which involve hot linens, plastic sheets, and blankets), salt glows (an exfoliation treatment), waxing as a form of hair removal, and cosmetic make-up services. Some aestheticians work with dermatologists to offer more services, including laser hair removal, laser skin resurfacing, microdermabrasion, and many types of chemical peels.

An esthetician can be licensed solely for that skill. An esthetician is not neccesarily licensed in cosmetology, but is typically well versed in knowledge of skin care.

Nail technician

A nail technician specializes in the art form and care of nails. This includes manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, gel nails, nail wraps, un nails, etc. They are also knowledgeable in nail irregularities and diseases, and may be able to identify such problems. They do not treat diseases, and would typically refer a client to a physician.

Electrologist

An electrologist offers hair removal services with the use of an electrolysis machine. As opposed to the hair removal via waxing offered by an esthetician, hair removal via electrolysis is permanent. It has recently been argued that barbers are also cosmetologists who extend the hair stylist speciality with services especially for men, such as shaving.
